Maintain a Clean, Healthy Mouth

Oral health is an important factor of overall health. In order to maintain oral health, it is important to help prevent the growth of bacteria in the mouth. In the absence of brushing, this bacteria forms dental plaque that has been linked to various diseases that originate in the mouth, including gingivitis. One study showed that "plaque on teeth can provide a breeding ground for this growth of bacteria."1

Using Sage's line of Toothette ? Oral Care products, you can help reduce the risk of plaque buildup in the mouth and promote oral health. Trust that you are achieving a clean, healthy mouth with the #1 trusted brand of oral care in hospitals.

    Covered Yankauer with Suction Handle

    Rating:
    Pros:
    • The quality is superior.
    Cons:
This is the only Yankauer that has a cover which allows it to stay clean. It is uncovered to use and then covered back. I have seen three other Yankauer models and they get dirty from the environment too quickly. I will highly recommend this product.

    Covered (soft) Yankauer

    Cons:
Insurance only covers those hard plastic Yankauer. My Brother-In-Law has chipped his 4 front teeth using that Yankauer since he bites down hard while coughing out his mucus. Also the hard Yankauers hurt him while trying to suction in the back of the mouth. A couple years back he was in the hospital they used the Soft Yankauer from Sage he liked them so we have decided to save the remaining teeth he has. We change them out daily.

I use this item for my disabled son who has a trach. It's soft so it don't scrap the inside of his mouth. I loved that it's covered too.

    Nice product

These are similar to what we used in the hospital. The ones our supplier and other hospitals use have no covers. We can't get enough to dispose of them after every use, so they would have to be multiple use. I don't see how you could keep it even relatively clean.

I put this as a 4 instead of 5 only because the ones we got in the hospital are the blue ones that come apart after the switch. The green ones don't do that. The blue ones are only available in large quantities, though.
