Basin Baths (Sponge Baths) - Potentially Harmful

The basin bath (sponge bath) is a common bathing practice performed both in hospitals and the home. But a recent study shows that 98% of basins tested at several sites were contaminated with bacteria, including the "superbug" MRSA. 1

Cons:
I was in a head on collision and broke my neck. I had to wear a Halo brace for 3+ months and unable to shower. My sister-in-law is a nurse and sent me an entire case of these wipes. We microwaved them to make them warm and that was wonderful. Luckily, I was in fall/winter so I didn't sweat a ton. But, I did sweat under the brace a little bit. I wore the same shirt for 3 months and didn't smell at all (I asked everyone! lol). I credit these wipes. Such a small thing that made a huge difference! Thank you!

Cons:
Due to surgery, I am unable to take a shower or bath for two months. I was sent home from the hospital with these clothes and ended up ordering more getting the info off of the package. They are large and moist and are perfect for a 'sponge bath'. Very reasonably priced too. The customer service lady was very helpful and courteous.
