Basin Baths (Sponge Baths) - Potentially Harmful

The basin bath (sponge bath) is a common bathing practice performed both in hospitals and the home. But a recent study shows that 98% of basins tested at several sites were contaminated with bacteria, including the "superbug" MRSA. 1

Skin Check? Promotes Communication

These wipes are very convenient. My husband has been going through a lot of health problems requiring surgery. He is unable to get in the shower or tub so these are perfect for in-bed bathing. These were what they used in the hospital and we went online to order more.

I had a major surgery nine years ago and I couldn’t get out of the hospital bed for a few days after the surgery. The hospital nurses were using the Sage Comfort Bath Wipes, perfectly heated, to clean all their patients up each day. After arriving home for recovery, I ordered my own supply of the wipes. I’ve kept a constant supply for nine years now. I order both the deodorant wipe as well as the unscented wipes. They clean the body well and they are very easy to use on days when typical showering would be difficult. The wipes are of high quality. They’re thick, adequately moistened and easy to heat in the microwave.

As my Ward is incontinent (and for quite a long period), I am always concerned about breakdown in skin. We have long used you Comfort Bath (now, I believe, called “EssentialBath”), and lately have also used “Comfort Shield.). He is seen frequently by our dermatologist, and I always insist on examination of genital area. Lo, no problem has EVER manifest. We are so happy that your product(s) as/are available.
